Eureka market

The entire 1-hour drive from Whitefish to Eureka is tree-lined. Occasionally a mountain peak will rise over the horizon and an aqua lake will shimmer between the trees. Eureka is only a few mile south of the Canadian border and you can listen to a British Columbia radio station while you drive.

Considering that there were only 10 vendors at this farmers market, there was a whole lot to see. I learned how creative people can be when Sally described her chocolate-making process to me. It's all-natural, all healthy -- and quite delicious!

I also learned that the Amish live in the area and that they make the best -- the very, very best -- glazed doughnuts. They also had many jams and jellies for sale, including dandelion, Oregon grape, and rose petal. I wish I ate more jelly!

And of course there were plenty of vegetables available.
